Our Body and Brain Has an Intention to Heal: Using Neurofeedback and EMDR Therapy to Recover from PTSD

Using the two together can make a dramatic difference in people’s lives. It can even be a “game-changer” to those who have not responded to other forms of psychotherapy or medications for their symptoms.  Neuroptimal Neurofeedback and EMDR therapy can be provided in the same session. Neurofeeback calms the nervous system which helps the client to better receive EMDR therapy, or fully regulate following EMDR.  In addition, Neuroptimal Neurofeedback  provides a grounding effect which can allow a client to stay in the “window of tolerance” to tolerate trauma treatment and EMDR therapy. Many clients choose to do both EMDR and neurofeedback during one appointment, though both can be provided at separate times as well.
